INDIAN MARRIAGES AND STEREOTYPES INCLUDED BY SOCIETY.

Hey , Guys(instagram) Thank you so much for helping me to select the topic for my blog . As 72 percent thats the majority of you voted for Indian marriages and here it is hope you will enjoy reading.

Yes it is 2020 a Pandora box full of pandemic which blocked the fluidity of everything whether it is buisness or development of country. But something which continued in this pandemic is marriages .And now December 2020 has knocked our door with handful of #SHADI SEASON .

So Do you know What is the concept behind marriages in India or basically what do the Hindu rituals i.e Dharma , shastra, says . SO LET'S START -

For Hindus, marriage is a sacrosanct union. It is also an important social institution. Marriages in India are between two families, rather two individuals, arranged marriages and dowry are customary.

Since time immemorial marriage has been the greatest and most important of all institutions in human society. It has always existed in one form or another in every culture, ensuring social sanction to a physical union between man and woman and laying the foundation for building up of the family – the basic unit of society.

The Hindus have idealized marriage in a big way. In the patriarchal society of Rig Vedic Hindus, marriage was considered as a sacramental union, and this continued to be so during the entire period. In the Shastric Hindu law,[2] marriage has been regarded as one of the essential sanskaras (sacrament for every Hindu). Every Hindu must marry. “To be mothers were woman created and to be fathers men.” The Veda ordains that “Dharma must be practiced by man together with his wife and offspring”. “He is only perfect who consists of his wife and offspring.” “Those who have wives can fulfill their obligations in this world; those who have wives truly have a family life; those who have wives can be happy; those who have wives can have a full life.”

Here I want to add like who don't have any spouse or wife they aren't successful and happy? Like seriously such typical statements which can't be justified are also added by veda😂.

Wife is the ardhangini (half of man) according to Satpatha Brahmana “The wife is verily the half of the husband. Man is only half, not complete until he marries.” The concept of SOULMATE derived from here onwards. Taittiriya Samhita is to the same effect. Manu declared that mutual fidelity between husband and wife was the highest dharma.

Wife under Hindu law is not only a “grahpatni,” but also a “dharma patni” and “shadharmini.” The wife is her husband's best of friends. She is the source of Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. The husband is known as bharthi. He is supposed to support his wife. He is also known as pati because he is supposed to support her.

Now these things we all are somewhat aware about but the interesting point to this blog is I'm willing to sparkle the light upon stereotypes formalities and criteria created by society to find a SOULMATE. So it is like

1." KUNDALI KE 36 GUN MILE ?"😏

Horoscope and Astrology we all know isn't accurate like no one can predict what will happen in next second . But these mahaan aatmas knows that who which girl is perfect for boy or vice versa. Like seriously they got comparison of characters ( gun) if the score is 36 / 36 then they are made for each other , if the score is nearly between 25 to 32 then they are like "chal jaega". But if your kundali consist of mangalik dosh , mool nakshtras, kaalsarp yog and etc like shits then these mahaan aatmas will pretend that as if you are the person came from another planet and you need " shuddhikaran" (purification) through puja path . Even those who have mangalik dosh they have to marry first to either banana tree or dog , actually astrology says that when someone have mangalik dosh then they face alot of problem in their married life may they get separated or they would lose life of there partners so when they get married first to tree or dog then that dosh ends up . Like if these horoscopes gonna make matches then marriages would become more disgusting than hell

If you want match then match there hobbies , there food taste , there way of thinking , song taste .... this will help them alot. Here you can't explain such stereotype peoples better move on from here.

2. "KITNA DAHEJ LEKAR AAI AAPKI BAHU"

Yes now it's time for dowry it's like crucial step you can't skip this . Every girl is judged by how much amount and gifts she came up with , if it's more and satisfactory then it's okay . If she wont have that much to come with then she has been scolded , bulleyed by in laws and number of crime scenes orgin from here only . Like if I comment over here there would be huge traffic will criticize me , But then also think marriage is combining souls to become SOULMATE , so how could the amount of dowry can decide that you are married to your soulmate ?

See here we the youth have to take a stand over to stop this shit thing , it's upon us whether we want to go with flow or want to oppose the flow of society. I stop this here only now it's your turn to decide and make it work.

3. "LADKI GORI HAI NA?"

YES it's main question whether the girl is fair or not if she is then it's perfectly fine and if she is down shade from fair then she has been rejected by hopeless and brainless people . And let me tell you if you think that people with fair complexion are beautiful then u r wrong because miss world trophy won by Sushmita sen a down complexion lady and she won even in the presence of Aishwarya Rai ( considered to be one of the beautiful women in the world).

To be honest I'm not fair even I'm not in the shades of fair but still appreciated by my family , friends , relatives , on social media etc. According to me Reflection that mirror gives us is illusion but the reality us THAT reflection of your heart to the people will tell about your beauty . So it varies person to person that how they scale beauty .

4."LADKA SARKARI NAUKARI VALA HAI ?"

In India it's a common question whether the boy possess government job or not . In India government job is considered to be royal job and why it is so you all know very well. But what is my opinion that private firms, multinational corporations are doing well much more better than these govt jobs even due to the existence of private firms these government organization works . So it's a myth royal life is only possessed by govt job holders.

Even what I say is why to search for "SARKARI NAUKARI VALA DAMAD" instead teach your daughter's economic independence and teach your son's how to cook instead of marrying a girl which can cook for him That's it.

There are number of things besides mobile applications which needs update which includes our mindset too.

5. "SHARMA JI NE BETI KI SHADI ME PAISA PAANI NO TARAH BAHAYA ,WAAH MAZA AA GAYA

These typical mindset can't be changed that spending lavishly over the simple occasions doesn't makes any change over the relations , it will remain as it is . Yesterday only I went to an engagement where I was shocked like they spended alot of money just for simple Ring ceremony .

This is so ridiculous as if we have alot it doesn't mean that we'll spend it lavishly still we can donate them to the needy people who are fighting for there lifes. But what to do with societies deep rooted stereotype mindset.

At last I can't conclude that" marriages are made in heaven. " Because here society has came to convert this beautiful and unexplained relation in to hell. So now it's upon you what you want to go with hell or heaven.
